This Privacy Policy explains what information AisleSong collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect only what's necessary to deliver your song and improve the service.
1. Information we collect
We collect three categories of information:
- You give it to us. Your name, partner's name (optional), email, wedding date (optional), payment information (handled by Stripe — we never see card details), and any story details, references, or files you submit when ordering.
- You generate it by using the site. Quiz answers, the device you used, browser, IP address (anonymized), referring URL, and pages visited. Standard web analytics data.
- We compute it. Your assigned style ID, recommended package, and a deterministic hash of your quiz answers used to generate consistent results.
2. How we use it
- To create and deliver your song
- To send order confirmations, delivery emails, and revision requests
- To send marketing emails (only if you've opted in or completed the quiz)
- To improve the service, the quiz, and our song production
- To prevent fraud and abuse
3. Third parties we share data with
We use a small number of trusted vendors to operate the service. We share only what each vendor needs to perform their function. Each is bound by their own privacy commitments.

We do not sell your information. We do not rent or trade your information. We do not share your information with advertising networks beyond standard pixel-based remarketing for our own ads (Meta, Pinterest, TikTok pixels), which can be opted out via your device's ad settings.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for: keeping you logged into the quiz state, remembering your quiz answers across sessions (localStorage), measuring site traffic (Google Analytics), and serving relevant ads (Meta, Pinterest, and TikTok pixels). You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some functionality (the quiz state-saving) won't work without them.
5. Email marketing
If you complete the quiz or place an order, we may send you marketing emails. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. We comply with CAN-SPAM (US), CASL (Canada), and GDPR (EU) requirements. We never sell, rent, or share your email address for third-party marketing.
6. Children
AisleSong is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us at info@aislesong.com and we will delete it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold on you
- Correction — request a correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion — request we delete your data (subject to our legal obligations to retain order records)
- Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection — object to specific processing, including marketing
- California (CCPA/CPRA) — Californians have additional rights including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as defined under CCPA.
- EU/UK (GDPR) — EU and UK residents have rights under GDPR including the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@aislesong.com from the email address associated with your account. We respond within 30 days.
8. Data retention
We retain order records (name, email, wedding date, song deliverable, payment receipt) for 7 years for tax and audit purposes. Marketing email lists are retained until you unsubscribe. Anonymized analytics data is retained indefinitely for trend analysis.
9. Security
We use industry-standard security including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords (where applicable), Stripe-handled payment processing (we never store card details), and access controls on our internal systems. No system is perfectly secure; if we discover a breach affecting your information, we will notify you per applicable law.
10. International transfers
AisleSong operates from the United States. If you're accessing the service from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the service, you consent to this transfer. Where required (EU/UK), we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses with our vendors.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to your account address with at least 14 days notice. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
